Dr. Dawn Devaney Gammon, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Gammon graduated with high honors from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in North Miami Beach, Florida. She completed her residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center/Southwestern Blind Rehabilitation Center in Tucson, Arizona. She is licensed to treat and manage ocular conditions using therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and is also experienced with all types of contact lenses and refractive surgery co-management.  She has been a successful LASIK patient herself for over ten years.
 

Dr. Gammon was recognized as a Top Optometrist in Consumers’ Research Council of America's Guide to America’s Top Optometrists in the 2012, 2010, 2009, 2006-2007, 2004-2005 and 2002-2003 editions. She loves working with people and is fully dedicated to taking the time and energy to meet the needs of each patient.  

In her spare time, Dr. Gammon enjoys west coast swing and country-western dancing, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Sam M. Stumer, O.D.

Dr. Stumer graduated from the State University of New York/State College of Optometry in New York City in 1991. He went on to complete residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Family Practice Optometry. He is board certified
in the treatment and management of ocular disease and has been practicing in northern Virginia area since 1992.

Originally from the same home town on Long Island as Dr. Gammon, they met while practicing in the Washington Metropolitan area. Dr. Stumer is a highly experienced and compassionate Optometrist, and has a special interest in the care and management of refractive surgery patients, as he was one of the first optometrists in northern Virginia to be trained in this specialty. He has been a successful LASIK patient for over ten years.

Dr. Eveena Mahal, O.D.

Dr. Mahal graduated from the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico School of
Optometry in 2009. Originally from Cumberland, MD, she worked in Richmond, VA
before deciding to move closer to her family in the Northern VA area. She is
board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease.

Dr. Mahal is proficient in Spanish having completed rotations in El Paso, TX,
Guanajuato, Mexico and Puerto Rico where she served a predominantly Hispanic
population. Dr. Mahal enjoys using her skills and knowledge to volunteer abroad
and has had the opportunity to participate in vision screenings in Mexico and
the Dominican Republic.

 

Cameron Harlow, Optician

An avid paintball player and comic book collector, local fantasy artist and bass player, Cameron joins our team of experienced opticians. Cameron brings 20 years of knowledge ranging from sales to manufacturing of glasses to marketing and product management. He has spent the last 3 years as a field support agent training new staff, coordinating frame purchases, and working closely with lens manufacturers. Cameron's outgoing personality can be infectious as he works diligently to provide patients with the perfect fit and filling their optical needs!

Cindy Elkin, Optician

Cindy Elkin, FNAO, ABOM, Virginia Licensed Optician

Cindy has been helping Northern Virginians with their eyewear needs for over 40 years. She uses her years of experience to help take the guesswork out of choosing the eyewear that is most flattering, matching your prescription, lifestyle needs, skin tones and face shape.

Cindy is proud to be certified by the American Board of Opticianry as a Master Optician. In 2003 she was the recipient of the coveted Beverly Myers Achievement award given by the National Academy of Opticianry in recognition of those who have made a significant contribution to the field of opticianry education. She is a speaker at International Vision Expo, and has authored numerous articles for professional publications.

In her spare time, Cindy enjoys travel, cooking, reading and gardening.

Rachel Cassidy, Eyewear Style Specialist

Rachel started working in optical at the age of 17.  Her color and fashion sense make her a great frame stylist and she enjoys helping people find their perfect fit.  Rachel is also our resident athlete and has completed the "Tough Mudder" extreme obstacle race two years in a row!
