Meet Dr. Dawn D. Gammon (Reston, VA)

Dawn D. Gammon, O.D., FAAO, received her Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in North Miami Beach, Florida, graduating with Honors. She completed her residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center/Southwestern Blind Rehabilitation Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Dr. Gammon is licensed to treat and manage ocular conditions using therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and is also experienced with all types of contact lenses and refractive surgery co-management. In 1999, she had successful LASIK surgery herself. Now, as a presbyope, she understands the compromise of decreased near vision and has worn occupational glasses and multifocal contacts.

Dr. Gammon was recognized as the Best Eye Care Provider in Northern Virginia in Virginia Living Magazine for six consecutive years, 2016-2021, and Top Optometrist in Consumers' Research Council of America's Guide to Top Optometrists each year in the 2007-2018 editions.

She loves working with people and is fully dedicated to putting in the time and energy required to meet the needs of each patient.

In her spare time, Dr. Gammon serves on the board for Runway to the Cure, an annual fashion show held in Reston Town Center to benefit breast cancer research. She has raised two teenagers who are now in college and enjoys swing and salsa dancing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
